Mark Dantonio says he is not in uncharted waters, but the majority of his team have probably never experienced losing like this in their careers thus far.

"Well, first of all I think young people are a lot more resilient and can bounce back a lot quicker than coaches and guys who do this for a living" Dantonio said, speaking about his team's morale after starting 2-4 and being one of two teams not to have a Big Ten win (Rutgers being the other)

Dantonio says checking the pulse of his football team in the weight room, in meetings and elsewhere "at every turn it's been a positive thing".

Dantonio also took some time to reflect this week as he shared with the media.

He says seeing all the bowl jerseys and guys in the NFL made him take note of where they've been and how they can get going back to that point. While a bowl game on par with the last couple years is certainly out of the question this season there is a somewhat troubling idea that Michigan State might not make a bowl game this year, at 2-4 and Michigan and Ohio State still on the calendar, the margin for error is slim.

"Some of you guys [the media] say we've always played with a chip on our shoulder, we need to assume that chip is not there and put it there I guess" Dantonio said.

In the midst of a four game losing streak, the question was brought up is Michigan State becoming too predictable?

"I think it's hyperbole, there's always wrinkles" Dantonio said to that question.

One more story to come out of Dantonio's remarks, Damion Terry has been relegated to the bench and it is now Brian Lewerke and Tyler O'Connor at the top of the depth chart for the quarterback position.
