Dart Container Pours $40 Million Into Mid-Michigan Economy

A press release from Dart Container Corporation Wednesday afternoon is announcing a $40 million investment from the food and beverage packaging giant that will create 136 jobs in the Mason area.

Dart Container has plans to build and open 250,000 square foot facility on 38 acres it owns in Alaiedon Township. The new facility will be a technical and innovation center that company expects to increase its ability to improve on current products, and develop new products for the future. Of the 250,00 square feet, 80,000 will house offices. The other 170,000 square feet will accommodate the development and production of its prototypes.

The company will also expand its current tooling and manufacturing facilities in Mason. All in all, the expansion investment is expected to create 136 new jobs in administration, engineering, technology and skilled trade areas.
