Deb’s Brother is Roaming the Wilds of Michigan
My brother Mark, from Midland, is now retired and gets to blissfully spend his days hunting, fishing and foraging the wilds of Michigan, both peninsulas, Saginaw Bay, several rivers and beyond.
Yesterday he sent me pics of his most recent adventures, which included this 'beefsteak mushroom' that he found in the UP last week, which looks to me like a cooked brain; he says that he and his pals pick them all the time and cook 'em up for dinner to go with their Brook Trout.
A shot of the Trillium a week ago in the woods of the UP - pretty sure they were fishing the Taquamenon River at the time.
Here's the 11 pound Catfish he and his pal hauled in yesterday on Saginaw Bay, where they got their Walleye limit in 2 1/2 hours using Nightcrawlers and 'plastic worms'.
And this past Monday, it was a turkey harvested.
