Detroit Lawmaker Wants to Get Dogs Off Drivers’ Laps

You'll be breaking the law if your dog's riding on your lap while you drive - that's if Democratic State Representative LaTanya Garrett of Detroit gets her proposed legislation passed.

WILX TV 10 reports that Garrett contends that dogs in the drivers' seat are one more distraction for vehicle operators. Fines would start at $100 for the first offense and double for subsequent violations.
