My favorite candy bars from my youth are no longer available.

All the typical ones are still around, like Snickers, Three Musketeers, Mounds, Almond Joy, Milky Way, etc etc..

Some harder ones to find that still exist are Zero, 5th Avenue, Oh! Henry, and others.

My favorites as a kid – the ones that don’t exist anymore - were Nestle’s Triple Decker Bar (a layer of dark chocolate, layer of milk chocolate, layer of some kind of white filling), and Big Time (caramel, chocolate, nougat, peanuts). Big Time was my all-time favorite: 1/8 pound, thick, filling, and only a nickel!

I would trot down to the downtown sweet shop and grab one, maybe a comic book, bottle of pop, fruit pie and bag of Sweetarts.

Below are pictures of discontinued candy bars, like Milk Shake, Seven Up, and Butter Nut (there may be a couple that are still around). They were so popular and tasty, and I wonder why the manufacturing stopped.

See how many you remember…better yet, can you recall where you used to buy 'em? Neighborhood shop? Candy store? Party store? Sweet shop? Local hangout?
