This morning, we made the MAJOR announcement of Lynyrd Skynyrd coming to the Jackson County Fair this summer which got us reminiscing of our favorite times at Skynyrd shows.

On Tuesday, August 11th, 2020 Lynyrd Skynyrd will be making a long-awaited stop at the Jackson County Fair as part of the "Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour."

Tickets don't go on sale until Saturday, February 8th but that gives us a little extra time to all come together, maybe join in on a beautiful rendition of "Free Bird" and share our stories with others.

I went and saw Lynyrd Skynyrd for the first time back in November of 2018 at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids and it ranks as one of the best shows I have ever been to.

We went for my best friend's 24th birthday and, yes, our dads were very proud of the fact their daughters decided on their own to go see Lynyrd Skynyrd.

We had upper-bowl seats but we could have sat anywhere and had just as much fun!

Arriving to the show almost two hours early so we wouldn't miss a beat gave us plenty of time to get hyped up and talk about which songs we were praying to the southern rock gods they would play.

The only one they missed, for me, was "Swamp Music" but otherwise it was incredible and when they finished off with "Free Bird", a song that is my (and countless others') favorite song of all time, it literally brought tears to my eyes.

I still regret not getting a "Lynyrd F***in' Skynyrd" shirt but now here's another chance!

We are so excited to have such a staple in Classic Rock right in our back yard and can't wait to count down until August 11th with all of you!
