Last fall, Brenda Sweeney asked me at a Quality Dairy 'WMMQ MSU Ticket Stop' to join her team, "Struttin' for David" in the 2014 Ele's Race, which we ran yesterday at Jackson National Life headquarters in Okemos. (I'm the one in the gray hat on the right)  "Struttin' for David" raised over $740.00 for "Ele's Place", a healing center for grieving children, which does amazing work across the state in helping kids who've lost a close family member to work through their grief.

The Lansing State Journal reported that 1,300 people participated in the race.  Jackson National Life donated $145,000.00 to the event this year and online donations were around $16,000.00.

That was the first time I'd taken part in this event and was really impressed with how well it was orchestrated, in no small part to all the volunteers who helped make it all flow smoothly.

WMMQ invites you to take part in our first such event this Saturday - the Insane Inflatable 5K, which is going to be silly fun for everybody.  I'll be there as a volunteer, as will my partner Joey Pants.  We'd love to have you come join the fun!
