The Detroit Free Press is reporting that former Michigan State University football standouts Keith Mumphrey and Max Bullough have both been released by the National Football League's Houston Texans.

Both players have been under a bit of scrutiny in recent days. The Free Press also first reported Wednesday that Mumphrey had been expelled from graduate school at MSU for violating university policy regarding domestic and sexual misconduct issues.

Meanwhile, Bullough was recently suspended four games by the NFL for violating its performance enhancing drug policy.
