Some shifts have been cut locally at General Motors plants in Lansing in recent months. Now, WLNS.com is reporting that the automaker is ready to make more cuts in Michigan.

GM, reportedly, will cut its Warren based transmission plant to just one shift per day. There is no word on how many employees will be laid off in this latest round.

The report goes on to say that four other U.S. plants, including Lansing's Grand River and Delta Township plants, have seen shift reductions since late 2016. Also, GM has reportedly stated that it plans to hire back some 700 workers to its American workforce when it ramps up production in the future.
