During his freshmen year, MSU running back #3 LJ Scott made one of the most legendary plays in MSU history. In the B1G Championship game, down 13-9 in the final minute on 3rd down the Spartans gave the ball to their true freshmen. He became a Spartan Legend. Scoring one of the most iconic touchdowns of this Spartan era.

It's a fact, LJ turned down the last 2 National Champions (Ohio State and Alabama) to come and play here at MSU. He lead MSU in rushing as a freshmen with 699 yards, sharing time with Madre London, Gerald Holmes and Delton Williams. This year he is expected to share a bulk of the running load for the Spartans. He is getting some preseason love from ESPN, who called him one of the best backs in the B1G 10.

One website called this "The Year of LJ Scott."

MSU is in a quarterback and wide receiver transition. Connor Cook will be playing Sunday's in the NFL. MSU graduated 4 senior wide receivers. The timing seems perfect for a big year from LJ. If he can solve those fumbling issues we saw last year, there is little doubt who the #1 running back will be for MSU. #3.
