Flying In Country Is Much Easier Once You’re Fully Vaccinated

One down and one to go. I am beyond hyped to get my SECOND Covid-19 vaccine shot. A little over a week away @ MSU Pavilion where I got the first one. Moderna. I got the first shot and I've got the card to prove it. And a photo to boot.

Two weeks after that second shot I will be what they call fully vaccinated.

People are considered fully vaccinated:

• 2 weeks after their second shot in a 2-dose series, like the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
• 2 weeks after a single-shot vaccine, like Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine

You are not fully vaccinated if:

• it has been less than 2 weeks since your 1-dose shot

• it has been less than 2 weeks since your second shot of a 2-dose vaccine

• you still need to get your second dose of a 2-dose vaccine (CDC)

I can't wait to go see my father in Detroit and my mom down south. I haven't seen her in over a year. They both have had their vaccines (both doses) so we'll all be good to go. We still have to be safe and I intend to do that, but this is a great big step in the right direction to protect them and me.

But what I'm really looking forward to doing is traveling. I have mentioned I lived in Alaska before I moved back to Michigan. I want to go back to visit and get some of my stuff I left.

There are some places where you would travel to and you'd have to quarantine for a week or two once you get there. Alaska and Hawaii were/are both on that list.

But after I get my SECOND shot and two weeks afterwards, the CDC says that's not the case anymore.

• If you travel in the United States, you do not need to get tested before or after travel or self-quarantine after travel. (CDC)

You are now free to move about the country lol.
