According to a report from WILX.com, there may be an issue with the figures for fuel economy and emissions standards with vehicles built by Ford Motor Company.

The company announced that it is hiring an independent team of investigators to determine whether the testing procedures that the company currently uses are flawed. The first vehicke the company will check is its brand new 2019 Ford Ranger compact pickup.

The story says that Ford employees brought up concerns about the procedures last fall.  However, the company says that software called defeat devices, like those connected to Volkswagen models earlier this decade, are not being used.
