Former Michigan State men's basketball player Joshua Langford (pictured above) has signed on as an analyst for college basketball, the Big Ten Network announced on Thursday.

Langford, who left Michigan State after last season, was highly recruited out of Huntsville, Alabama, but suffered multiple foot injuries that forced him to lose 18 months of his time at MSU.  He averaged 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 1/2 assists during his career in East Lansing.

Joshua, who played guard next to Cassius Winston for the first two years of his career in East Lansing, did have an option to return to Michigan State for a sixth year (due to the NCAA's ruling for a free year because of COVID-19), but he decided to move on to get his Master's degree at MSU in education.  He's also working at the MSU Eli Broad School of Business this school year.

Langford will be a game analyst (color commentator) for this coming season on site.  It is unclear as to whether he will do any studio work as a halftime/postgame analyst this coming season.

The college basketball season is set to start on November 9th when Michigan State takes on Kansas in the first game of the Champions Classic in New York City's Madison Square Garden.  It's a 7:00pm tip-off.  You'll hear it on Lansing's Big Talker 1240 WJIM-AM and Classic Rock 94.9 WMMQ, starting with the pregame at 6:00.

Game 2 of the Champions Classic on Tuesday features Duke (the first game of Mike Kryzezewski's farewell tour) against Kentucky, beginning somewhere between 9-9:30pm.
