Jim Harbaugh and Michigan have gotten a lot of positive publicity for their 2016 recruiting class, and rightfully so.

Meanwhile, Mark Dantonio and Michigan State reeled in perhaps their best class ever in 2016, and yet many of their own fans are disappointed.

Worse, some Spartan fans are downright scared of what Harbaugh and the Wolverines have done.

That's a real shame considering MSU has seen its archrival reel in highly touted recruiting class after highly touted recruiting class--which always get more press and higher ratings than the Spartans'--for much of the past eight years, all to no avail on the gridiron where games are actually played and decided.

Don't Spartan fans realize it's more of the same? Don't they see that this is exactly what their team needs?

The chip-on-the-shoulder mentality has been the decisive factor and advantage for the Spartans over the course of Dantonio's tenure. He has masterfully crafted what had been a weakness into not only a strength but the foundation upon which to build a college football program of national prominence.

What happened on National Signing Day 2016 guarantees that the bedrock of Michigan State football is as sturdy as ever, and that ain't gonna change.
