What Is A Mullet?

Wikipedia says a mullet is a hairstyle in which the hair is cut shorter at the front and sides, but is longer in the back. One of the most iconic mullets of all time would have to be from country music singer Billy Ray Cyrus.

Why Did Alexa Lindsey Grow A Mullet?

Alexa told WZZM 13 that when the pandemic hit in 2020 and salons were closed, her hair started to get long, and she thought it was the perfect time to try something new.

Alexa Lindsey Enters The USA Mullet Championships

Alexa's mullet kept growing, and she even got it permed. Then earlier this year, she entered the USA Mullet Championships female division, aka the national 'Femullet' competition. Last week, Lindsey found out she was a finalist, making the top seven and going on to a public vote.

Having A Mullet Has Given Alexa Confidence

Lindsey told WZZM 13 that she hasn't always been the most confident person, but the hairstyle has really changed everything. "I know that seems so silly to say that came from a mullet, but it's true," she said. "It has brought me a lot of confidence, and I hope that they will crown it a champ because it's certainly made me feel like one."
