Lansing-Area Girls Basketball Top 10 Poll – (As of January 8th)
With all the students (and teachers) back from holiday break, it's gonna be an intense couple of months before the state tournament begins om March 4th.
We are now down to three area teams still undefeated as we enter 2024. They are: 7-0 Portland, 7-0 Ovid-Elsie, and 5-0 Bath.
And we're down to four area teams with only one loss on the year. They are: DeWitt (6-1), Fowler (6-1), Morrice (5-1), and Dansville (4-1).
The game of the week this week is on Tuesday night. As 7-0 Portland visits defending Division 2 state champion Lansing Catholic. The lady Cougars are only 3-3, but have played a tough schedule and have beaten everybody locally so far. It should be a great game.
Other good games on Tuesday have East Lansing at Haslett, St. Johns at Holt, and Dansville at P-W.
Thursday's top game has Dansville visiting Bath in a battle of CMAC powers. And on Friday, Haslett is at St. Johns, Lakewood is at Lansing Catholic, and Ovid-Elsie at Byron.
