As the Jackson County Fair has been cancelled for the first time pretty much ever, fair officials and Jackson County Parks and Recreation are still trying to support the vendors!

While people cannot go to the actual fair, MLive reports June 19-21 there will be a Fair Food Rally!

Admission is free social distancing measures will be in place and people can come still get their fair food fix.

"The food rally will allow patrons to stay in their vehicles and order and pickup whatever they please from the vendor stations," MLive said.

Jackson County Fair Manager, Denise Owens, says the event is meant to help support the vendors who will be missing out on business as fairs across the state have been cancelled.

Owens told MLive 12 vendors are participating in the rally over the course of the weekend including Junkyard Dog Hotdogs and Fiske Fries.

Now if only they could let me know if there will be elephant ears anywhere because then I would absolutely be all good to go!

The way they are setting this up, according to MLive, is people will be able to stay in their cars and order/pick up their tasty treats from the vendors.

The rally begins Friday at 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. and continues from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday with something special Saturday night!

Along with the fair food, there will also be a drive-in movie showing of Disney's 'Onward' for $20 per vehicle.

The weekend finishes out with food still available from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

If nothing else, the way we have been working around coronavirus, subsequent shutdowns and cancellations has been incredible. The creativity and our communities still trying to get out and make a negative situation a bit better truly shows our characters.

Am I reading into this a bit too much? Probably. It's just fair food, right? Wrong.

I tend to get a bit carried away when thinking about deep fried goodies.
