I'm going to talk about growing up on Lake Michigan again. I know, you've heard it before, but I'm just grateful that I got to grow up on Lake Michigan. It really gave me a strong appreciation for the water, the sun, the beach, the piers and the good times.

I was always doing something on the water. Our family owned a classic Chris Craft for a couple of years, and we'd spend the day on the lake. When I was in my adolescent years, I learned how to sail and eventually became an instructor at the Junior Foundation in St. Joe. After that I rented jet skis out on Silver Beach and Tiscornia Park for a guy named Todd; I can't remember the name of the company.

That job was freaking awesome. I sat on the beach and took people's money to go out and ride a jet ski or wave runner. Not only did I get a killer tan, but I also met some really cool people that enjoyed the water as much as I did. It was always fun to get the vehicles warmed up in the morning on the lake. Occasionally a rider would run out of gas and I would have to ride out to fill up their tank. We had binoculars and always had our eyes on our clients. Safety first. I didn't mind riding out to put some gas in their tank though either.
