Ken Burns and Lynn Novick spent six years to create the ten part, 18 hour documentary series that gives an "immersive 360-degree narrative" of the Vietnam War.

THE VIETNAM WAR begins airing on PBS this Sunday, September 17, 2017, and will feature the stories of 80 witnesses, which will include American soldiers and Vietnamese combatants, war protesters and other perspectives.

The series will include "rarely seen, digitally re-mastered archival footage from sources around the globe".

The film will be accompanied by an unprecedented outreach and public
engagement program, providing opportunities for communities to
participate in a national conversation about what happened during the
Vietnam War, what went wrong and what lessons are to be learned.   In
addition, there will be a robust interactive website and an
educational initiative designed to engage teachers and students in
multiple platforms.

The series starts at 8 PM ET this Sunday on WKAR TV.
