Kenneth Walker, III Named First-Team AP All-American
Michigan State junior running back Kenneth Walker, III was named first-team All-American by the Associated Press on Monday.
The Wake Forest transfer (pictured above) ran for 1,636 yards and 18 touchdowns for a 6.2 yards per carry average in 2021. The 1,636 yards is second in the nation behind Central Michigan's Lew Nichols, III.
He was joined on the first team by Iowa State's Breece Hall in the backfield. Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young of Alabama was named first team quarterback.
Walker, III is the only MSU Spartan to make any of the three All-American teams. It is unclear as to whether Walker will play in the upcoming Chick-Fil-A Peach Bow in Atlanta against Atlantic Coast Conference champion Pittsburgh on December 30th.
As a junior, Walker is eligible to declare for the NFL Draft. He has until January 17th to either declare for the Draft or return to MSU for his senior season.
