If you've ever been on Michigan Avenue by the 127 overpass and you were headed east, chances are you've seen this guy.

I don't know his circumstances and this is not to make light of the homeless and panhandler issues that exist in the City of Lansing.

Is it a crime, or are they working on decriminalizing it?

Panhandling in public is a crime in Lansing, but maybe not for much longer. The city ordinance banning it is one of seven that could be repealed in the near future.

Drive through the Frandor area in Lansing and you’re bound to see a panhandler asking for money, and technically violating a city ordinance. (WILX)

I don't know what side of that argument you might fall on. But what I do want to know is have you seen this guy?

He's not begging for a handout, he's playing his heart out.

He's usually on the corner of Michigan Ave. and Howard Street right before you get to the 127 overpass.

That's just east of People's Kitchen and right across from Feldman Chevrolet.

He's got his guitar and HE IS JAMMING. Giving it his everything. Strumming those strings as if his life depended on it.

He gets into it. Almost a little too into it.

It's a little intense and I'm kinda scared for the guy.

Because he walks off the curb.

And right up to people's cars. No matter if they are waving him over or not.

That's a little intimidating. I know you're asking for a little change and willing to work for it. But bruh, you're literally "playing in traffic." You're approaching someone sitting and waiting for a light to change. And you're practically in their window playing and singing so they can see your passion, and you're willing to work for whatever they give you.

You're either scaring them into speeding off and not giving you anything. Or, someone is gonna get out and approach you because you've gotten too close to the car. You're no longer on the sidewalk or out of the road but in the road. You could get hit. And depending on who's car you approach, you could get hit in more ways than one.

It's dangerous, that's what it is. But also kind of impressive how dedicated this dude is to playing the guitar? I've never actually heard him play, though. If you have, you're gonna have to message us on the app and let me know.

I don't know if I've ever been so intrigued, impressed, and scared at the same time. Not gonna lie, if I pull up to the stoplight and he's there, it's gonna sound kind of bad, but I try my best to make sure I'm not right next to him.
