MI DNR Says; “As Much As You Want To Help, Don’t!”
The Michigan DNR has issued a statement today that asks Michigan residents to avoid the urge to help waterfowl in their time of need. Due to ice coverage and large congregations of diver ducks and other waterfowl surrounding sparse open sections of water attempting to feed on plants and aquatic life, attempts to help could be more dangerous than good. Chipping away ice and making room for them can be quite hazardous. So no matter how difficult it is to see, you have to let them fend for themselves.
