As garden centers around Michigan are able to re-open and operate, in Jackson they are gearing up for a busy season.

Businesses that are allowed to be open still have to follow guidelines, as reported by MLive, such as providing PPE to employees and maintaining distance.

The order allows garden stores, nurseries, lawn care, pest control and landscaping businesses to carry on and the ones in Jackson are doing just that.

Customers flocked to centers like Beck's Flower Shop and Gardens and Gee Farms over the weekend after restrictions were lifted Friday.

Greenhouses at these locations and Hobbit Greenhouses are packed with flowers and plants available for purchase and people are ready.

My boyfriend and I even had to do a product pickup for new blinds at Lowe's recently and have never seen the garden center so busy with people buying up hanging baskets, landscaping flowers and necessities like mulch.

According to MLive, "garden centers are expected to be busy over the next coming weeks" and you can see it if you make your way out and about.

"We’re well-prepared and I’m feeling optimistic and happy to hear we’re able to open back up," Nick Zimmer, owner of Willow Greenhouse in Northville, said. "I think all the ideas we put in place are in line with what everyone’s thinking and as long as we are smart and keeping each other safe, there’s no reason we shouldn’t be able to operate."
