We're busy as hell in Michigan. Taking trips around the state can be cumbersome and exhausting. It's time to take a one bag one trip in MIchigan.

What's a one bag road trip?

Here's how the concept came to be. My wife and I were brainstorming ideas about getting away for the weekend. We didn't want to spend a lot of money and our Buick has more than enough room for us to lay down in when the seats are put down. We are short people.

We went on Amazon and purchased a inflatable mattress that is specific for our Buick, it was cheap too. We had a place to stay, just like that. Next thing we had to do is pack a bag, it's just for one night.

We were heading up north to do some star gazing. That made packing easy because we left home around 8pm to get to Indian River. We knew it would be late by the time we arrived, there was still star gazing to do. We were only in Indian River for nine hours.

We packed clean undies, sweatshirts, toothbrushes and deodorant. We also brought a small cooler to keep the 3 hotdogs we brought with us cold.

We were going to sleep at a rest stop initially but changed our minds and stayed at Burt Lake State Park. It was really dark when we arrived, we viewed the stars there.

When we woke up we had no idea how big Burt Lake was. We also had no idea it was about 75 yards from our campsite. That was a pleasant surprise. We also had the opportunity to get some good coffee at one of the local shops.
