Michigan Teacher Salaries Fall for the 4th Straight Year

I saw this story on mlive.com today and thought it was worth a share. The average Michigan teacher salary fell for the 4th straight year. The mlive story lets you examine each county and what each district is paying their teachers. Click here to see it. 

Both of my sisters are public school teachers in Michigan. Good ones, too. My sister Jamie was named Middle School Science Teacher of the Year back in 2005. The same year I got on the radio here at WMMQ. She won best kid that year, again.

I am from Webberville and was shocked to see how much the teachers are paid there. It seems like the smaller the school, the less the teachers are paid. I totally get why they are paid more in Detroit.
