Michigan Weather, Make Up Your Mind!
Michigan weather has always been one of those things that can change in a moment. The classic response to how weather is, is "wait for a minute and it will change". There's truth to that statement in our beautiful state.
Two weeks ago we were getting ready for Winter Storm Eliott. Although Elliott didn't drop as much snow as anticipated, Elliott did bring the blizzard like conditions with bitter cold temperatures. There was some slow moving traffic over Christmas weekend. Then things changed last Tuesday. Temperatures warmed up and the snow has all but melted throughout the week.
If you have lived in Michigan a majority of your life, you know that this is what happens weatherwise.
I used to be the guy that loved snow from November thru March. Not anymore, I would be a huge fan of snow for Christmas and moving right into June temps on December 26th. Hey, it's Michigan and I can remember temps being in the 60's on Christmas when I was a kid.
As I look back on 2022 I can say that the fall seemed mild and we really haven't had much winter activity this year. Weatherspark says that the average temps in Lansing should be a hi of around 30 degrees and lo of 18 degrees with temperatures warming slowly thru the month.
Our warmer than normal temperatures are going to be hanging around for at least the next ten days. Enjoy the weather, I am betting that there's at least one or two more winter storms coming our way before spring.
Temps near 50 degrees and lo temps are much higher than average.
Again, higher than average temps with some precipitation and lo's still higher than average.
Still holding steady above average temps.
Again, this looks good to me. Higher than average temps and well above average lo temps. A chance of precipitation.
Like the old saying goes, "if you don't like Michigan weather, just wait a minute".
