Apparently it is "National Candy Month" and while it is surprising we have a whole MONTH dedicated to celebrating candy...what they say Michigan's favorite is may be too.

Now, already I am a bit confused as to why "National Candy Month" is in June instead of October is interesting. I don't know, I just thought we buy the most candy around Halloween but hey, I'm no expert, National Day Calendar confirms it.

I indulge in candy from time to time but because I really can't trust my sweet tooth to know when to stop and the fact it is swimsuit season, I haven't had it in a while!

My go-to's are usually either Snickers, Mike and Ike (remember when they "broke up"?) or if I'm feeling especially sweet that day, peach rings!

Those are just my favorites, though, while my mom really loves Kit Kat bars, my friend Kennedy loves Cow Tails and everyone everywhere pretty much has a different one.

How in the world did they figure out one single favorite to rule them all?

Well The Daily Meal did the work for us and says they reached out to CandyStore.com for the answers on which candy each state liked the best.

"Exact sales numbers weren’t provided," said Daily Meal. "But we still got the lowdown on every delicious peanut butter chocolate Reese’s and fruity flavorful Skittle sale from sea to shining sea in the past 18 months."

Skittles and M&M's were among some of the most popular across the 50 states but in Michigan we sure do love our chocolate bars, specifically, Hershey's.

That's right, Michigan's favorite candy is a simple, classic Hershey bar.

Honestly, it does make sense.

It's simple, it's sweet, it's classic and it goes perfect with a Michigan summer bonfire and s'mores!

So there you have it folks, a bit of a fun little factoid for your Friday and a reminder to keep it sweet!
