The Lansing State Journal is reporting that Michigan State Football defensive end Demetrius Cooper is facing more trouble after violating terms of a plea deal he reached in March with prosecutors. Cooper was charged in November 2016 for spitting in the face of an East Lansing parking and code official, resulting in an assault charge.

The plea deal called for the assault charge to be dismissed and replaced by a littering citation in November 2017 if Cooper abided by the terms set forth. One of those terms was to not consume alcohol. Reportedly, that is exactly what Cooper did in April. Now that the terms have allegedly been violated, Cooper must appear in 54-B District Court on May 11 for a show cause hearing, where he may face charges of being in contempt of court.
