MSU’s Mel Tucker Named Big Ten Coach Of The Year
Michigan State University football team exceeded expectations this year under the leadership of Mel Tucker. His tenure is just beginning but already the coach has been recognized.
He is the 6th Spartan coach to win this award. It is Tucker's second season with the Spartans and his first full season. The team finished they year with a 10-2 record. They finished the regular season 6-0 at home, their first unbeaten mark at Spartan Stadium since 2015.
The coach will be in East Lansing for a while. He recently signed a 10-year $95 million contract extension to stay in East Lansing.
Tucker might have to get a bigger mantel. He's had quite a haul of trophies this year including the Paul Bunyan Trophy, the Old Brass Spittoon and the Land Grant Trophy.
