Michigan is about to open its 103rd state park in Jackson County. According to WLNS.com, Watkins Lake State Park and County Preserve will be set on 717 acres near Manchester, in Norvell Township. The State of Michigan spent about $3 million to purchase the former farm land. Officials say that visitors will be able to hike, bike, and bird watch. A full plan for the park is still in its building stage. Officials say they will hold multiple public meetings to discuss the details further.
