Rare Strain of Gonorrhea Found in Kalamazoo
Now is as good of a time as ever to be practicing safe sex in Kalamazoo with 11 cases of a rare strain of gonorrhea found.
According to WOOD, so far there has been 10 confirmed cases of Disseminated gonococcal infection found in Kalamazoo and one that is looking like it may be confirmed as well.
This type of gonorrhea usually requires hospitalization. Things to look for are chills, fever, joint pain, stiffness and swelling. This strain can often lead to infections in your internal organs. This type of infection sometimes doesn't show symptoms until it's too late.

Health officials are warning the public to protect against Disseminated gonococcal infection by using condoms and always practicing safe sex in order to not catch these types of diseases.
