New Michigan Law Targets Fake Emotional Support Animals
Representatives from BOTH PARTIES finally agree on something, which is amazing.
A new bill in Lansing that has bipartisan support would make it tougher for people to get their fur babies certified as "emotional support" animals.
Rep. Matt Hall, R-Emmett Township and Rep. Sara Cambensy, D-Marquette are both supporting the bill. It would make lying to a landlord about an ESA (emotional support animal) a misdemeanor. They also hope to eliminate doctor shopping.
The new law would NOT apply to therapy animals; just emotional support animals.
