Snow Days Cause Mid-Michigan School To Cancel Mid-Winter Break
According to a report from WILX.com, Ovid-Elsie Schools will have full classes at all campuses this Friday, February 15 and Monday, February 18.
The dates were initially scheduled as days off for Mid-Winter Break. But, due to the amount of snow days this school year, fourteen, the district needs to make up eight days to comply with state minimum attendance requirements. The district has applied for three forgiveness days, but, that would leave five more days to make up.
School officials decided to do away with Mid-Winter Break, and to also add a half-day of school on Good Friday, April 19, in lieu of adding those two and a half days to the end of the school year calendar.
