If you like eating some heat three to five times a week, you may well live longer than those who consume spicy food less than once a week, according to results of a new study.

Why would that be? Capsaicin, the heat in chili peppers, has been found to reduce inflammation, decrease high blood pressure, fight obesity and some say, even cancer. They also believe that antibacterial properties of the spicier spices may even help balance the microbes in our guts. Get more details here in an Los Angeles Times story.

What's your favorite spicy food? I like spicy Thai food the best, I think. Though I do put cayenne in a LOT of foods I make.
