The City of Lansing has announced the closure of Turner Street on the city's northside as crews prepare to resurface the roadway.

The closure begins today, Thursday, August 1, and is expected to be closed for about two weeks. The project will be between Douglas Avenue and Filley Street. Traffic will be detoured to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard by way of Filley Street and North Street/North Grand River Avenue.

Access to businesses within the closed portion of Turner Street will remain available during the project. City officials warn motorists who frequent the detour route to plan extra travel time in expectation of traffic delays, especially at the intersection of North Grand River and M.L.K. Boulevard.
