Underwater Fishing in the Rockport Sinkhole, Near Alpena
What's in a water-filled sinkhole?
Fish.
What's at the bottom of an inland sinkhole?
Weeds and fallen trees.
A couple of adventurous lads went underwater fishing at one of the sinkholes found within Rockport State Recreation Area, 12 miles north of Alpena. Trekkin' through woods, weeds, and bugs, they came across their destination in the middle of the Rockport Recreation Area.
A mid-size sinkhole in the thick of the forest where it wouldn't be too difficult to get turned around and lost.
It's not a deep sinkhole, therefore it's very easy to see what' lies underwater. The pictures and video below show you their excursion.....it's kinda cool.
