Unimaginable Heartbreak Compounded for Eaton Rapids Family

Around 6:30 on Saturday evening, January 7th, the Malone family from Eaton Rapids was traveling east on I-96 near Hagadorn Road when their vehicle slid off the road in the snowy conditions, flipped and hit a tree.

14 year old Erin Malone did not survive the wreck and her mother Emily (Dell) Malone was critically injured. Sean Malone and 11 year old Lauren received minor physical injuries.

Sean Malone's life ended a few days after the wreck.

Then Emily Malone passed away this past Sunday, leaving 11 year old Lauren Malone the sole survivor of this heartbreaking tragedy.

WILX TV 10 reports that fundraisers are being held to cover expenses at businesses in Dansville and Eaton Rapids, as well as Eaton Rapids High School.
