The City of Lansing will start hauling away your spent Christmas trees starting Monday, January 7, 2019. They'll collect through January 14, 2019, then you gotta' figure out what to do with it.

You're asked to put the trees out on the curb the same day that blue trash bags, blue trash carts and green recycling carts are collected in your Lansing neighborhood. If your tree is 6 feet or longer, you gotta' cut it in half.

And should we have snow/snow banks by then (looks unlikely, according to the NOAA forecast here), you're asked to put the tree debris on top of snow banks so City drivers can see them.

The City of Lansing says this is not the time to put your yard waste - leaves, etc - out at the curb. You'll have to hang onto that for now because they're not accepting it at this time.
