Lansing Area Gas Prices Shoot Up For Second Straight Weekend

Drivers received another dose of sticker shock as they pulled in to fill up their gas tanks Friday morning. Once again this week, the price per gallon rose in Mid-Michigan, leaving us with an average per gallon price of $2.389 according to Gas Buddy. That's an increase of 17 cents from one week ago, and also 17 cents higher than the national average. Last week, prices also took a hike.

Gas Buddy says that our average area prices have gone up by more than 20 cents per gallon in the last month. But, we're still much lower than a year ago when we were paying an average of $2.57 per gallon. They project a downward trend in the upcoming week...but, they also said that last weekend. Currently, the lowest prices reported are in Charlotte and St. Johns.
