(The Six O'Clock Triple Shot is a daily feature of three songs that share a common theme, heard weeknights on 94.9 WMMQ)

, and it wasn't exactly a classic performance. Morrison had already been entrenched with the drug and alcohol dependency demons by this time. During the show, his inebriation became more evident. He was forgetting lyrics, slurring his speech, and eventually coudn't stand on his own. During the drum solos of "Light My Fire" that night, Morrison sat down on the drum risers. When he wouldn't get up to finish the song, drummer John Densmore kicked him up. Morrison through a temper tantrum, destroyed his mic stand, and stormed off stage. And, that folks, was all she wrote. The band wouldn't play another live show before Morrison's death in July of 1971.

Tonight, we'll do three from The Doors for your Six O'Clock Triple Shot. Tune in for "Back Door Man", "The Wasp (Texas Radio)", and the last dong the band ever performed...kind of..."Light My Fire" only on 94.9 WMMQ!
