Last weekend I muttered words that I never thought I'd say to my wife. In a low growl I mumbled "let's go antiquing". My wife was taken back by my statement and asked me if something was wrong. My response was "I'm almost 50 years old, perhaps I can step out of my comfort zone", with a laugh.

Truth be told, we are moving in a couple of weeks. I normally do my furniture shopping etc. at big chain stores. Not this time. Our home is mid century and we'd like to decorate the home with that style. Low and behold, antique shops are amazing because we found some items that we will be using in our home.

When I was a kid, my parents would go antiquing what seemed like almost everyday. I couldn't stand it as a kid. I enjoy it now because I can appreciate the history behind the itmes that I am purchasing. It's fun to think about who owned the items previously and if the items could talk the stories they would tell.
