$600 Fine for Driving in Denver Without Snow Tires/Chains

Here in Greater Lansing we were spared the worst of the winter storm that has hit parts of the nation, including northern lower Michigan and the UP.

My Honey has a friend who lives in Denver, where it was 73 degrees and sunny on Tuesday, then yesterday they were hit with TWO FEET of snow!

My Honey's friend said that police were giving out $600 to anyone driving in Denver without 4 wheel drive or snow tires/chains - wow. Does that seem too punitive?
