It took nearly two whole months but Michigan State football found themselves back in the win column Saturday, shutting out Rutgers 49-0 at home.

"You guys have a lot more questions when we're losing" Dantonio quipped to the media after the game. His comment points out a known cause and effect in sports, win games and less scrutiny comes from the press conferences.

Michigan State dominated early and often with two touchdowns 18 seconds apart before the halfway mark of the first quarter. Josiah Price caught one of his two touchdown passes, and Demetrious Cox had a 30 yard interception return for a touchdown.

The Spartans took a 21-0 lead into the 2nd quarter and just kept the throttle down, something Michigan State has had trouble doing in games this year.

Madre London in relief of starter LJ Scott found the end zone twice, and Josiah Price became the sole owner of 4th place on the Spartans all-time receiving touchdowns list with two of his own.

For Michigan State this game was their first shutout at home since 2013 when they blanked Purdue 14-0, their winning margin was their largest since week three of 2014 when the Spartans won 73-14 over Eastern Michigan.

Michigan State still has two games left on the season, home to Ohio State and a road test against Penn State to close out their season.
