Why Biggby Coffee Being Closed At 12 Noon is a Big Freakin Problem
But I need my coffee!?!?
What is going on here?
What's happening?
I mean there's rejection and then there's your favorite coffee spot rejecting you.
There is nothing like you going to tug on a door and pulling back on nothing but disappointment and a locked entry.
You brain automatically goes to, "that can't be right".
You pull again.
Denied...again.
Then you do the peek inside and look to see if you're being punked or...if...nope, nobody's in there.
But, it's early afternoon. If it was after 6 pm I could understand.
This happened to me around 3pm. And much to my chagrin, they had closed and locked the doors way earlier.
Noon people. Biggby closed at 12 noon and I need to know why.
But wait, there's more.
Across the street at Quality Dairy, same thing but different times. Still an inconvenience when you're a night owl.
The usually open 24 hour joint is now shut down from 2a - 5a.
Coffee shops, QD, restaurants...remember when we talked about Leo's a little while back.
Staffing issues.
Leo's is closed because of staff shortages. And they've been looking to hire people for a while.

Sadly, now it's affecting everyone.
The struggle continues for restaurant workers as the pandemic wanes on.
Business owners made that known during a meeting of the House Tourism and Senate Small Business committees Wednesday.
One of the biggest problems is they can’t find workers.
The people they do have are working long hours and dealing with customers who haven’t been very patient. (WILX)
Even with incentives and bonuses it's hard for places to find workers and the cost of supplies and equipment is going up too.
Be kind, be patient, and be prepared because your favorite (coffee) spot or restaurant could be operating in limited capacity because they can't get folks to come in and work.
