The Rolling Stones announced their rescheduled concert dates for their 2019 No Filter North American Tour Thursday. And, Chicago will host he first two shows of the trek.

The dates at Soldier Field are Friday, June 21 and Tuesday, June 25. If you had tickets for the original dates, those tickets will be valid. Or, refunds can be given through a ticket holder's Ticketmaster account. If you're going to either show, I strongly urge you to free up time before and in between the two dates, and scout the City of Chicago for the biggest of rock and roll treasures.

So, typically, this is not the greatest news for fans of aging classic rock bands to hear that they will see the first sampling of the tour. It is more typical to have technical issues, band chemistry and rustiness, or, given that the reason the dates were postponed to begin with were the health issues of Mick Jagger., that's reason for concern alone. But, I say fear not concertgoers!! This isn't your typical aging classic rock band. It is the ageless Rolling F#@K!NG STONES!!!

First off, in the original post about the tour resuming today on WMMQ.com, you can see that Mick looks to be as limber and healthy as ever. That should be an encouraging sign to fans. But, remember, this band loves to come prepared 150 percent to every tour. It's not the first Rolling Stones tour to begin in Chicago. Will something unbelievably awesome happen again this year in the Windy City?

In 1997, the band kicked off its Bridges To Babylon Tour with two shows in Chicago, also at Soldier Field. But, they also popped in for a surprise show in front of 500 people at a small bar called Double Door on the north side of Chicago. 230 people bought tickets for the "secret" show for $7. If you don't believe me, check out this 1997 article from the Chicago Tribune.

This is a habit of the band, as they have done this for decades. They did it in 2012 before arena dates in Europe, It also happened in 1977 in Toronto, and again as recently as 2015 in San Diego.

I wish I knew the right connections to tell you for sure this is happening in Chicago next month. I think I may have two possible fourth and fifth hand sources to check in with. But, rest assured, if I find anything you will be the next to know! Stay tuned, and share any news you may hear!!
