Last week, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder signed an energy emergency that allowed drivers of fuel haulers exceed the normal hours and mileage limitations put in place for commercial drivers. According to WLNS.com, the governor extended that emergency order Friday. With the extension, certain drivers of fuel haulers can exceed those limits through June 22 in Upper Peninsula counties, as well as Cheboygan County. The order extends through June 13 for the rest of the Lower Peninsula.

The initial order was put into place due to an unscheduled production stoppage at Marathon's Detroit Refinery and for maintenance on a pipeline in Wisconsin that feeds the U.P.'s fuel supply. The refinery is up and running once again, but the pipeline remains down.
