Ingham County Fair Attendees Can Receive Text Updates

If you're headed to Mason to catch some live jousting at the Ingham County Fair next week, or taking in any midway action or events, there's a new way to stay alert for emergencies, special events, and weather events.

WILX.com reports that fair-goers can request text messages through the Capital Area Ingham County alert system. A simple text of "ICFAIR" to 888777 will subscribe you for the fair-oriented alert system.

Keep in mind, this is a different subscription message than that of the normal emergency alert system. Those already subscribed to the county messaging system for traffic and weather emergencies should subscribe with the "ICFAIR" message.
