World’s Fastest Pizza Box Folder is a Michigander

Every year the World Pizza Games are held in Las Vegas and this year the pizza box folder champion comes from the great state of Michigan.

What Is the World Pizza Games?

There is a huge convention that happens every year in Las Vegas called The International Pizza Expo & Conference. The event is the world's largest trade show for people who own pizzerias or work in the pizza business from managers, food suppliers, and companies that build the equipment.

The Pizza Expo features an event called the World Pizza Games. The event features 5 categories that test the skills of individuals to find out who the world's best pizza makers are. Below is a list of the 5 events:

• Fastest Dough
• Largest Dough Stretch
• Pizza Triathlon
• Fastest Pizza Box Folding

Fastest Pizza Box Folding Champion is From Michigan

The above video is from the 2021 International Pizza Expo & Conference pizza box folding competition to give you an idea of what the event looks like. It is pretty amazing the speed at which these competitors can get these boxes together. Probably a really good skill to have on weekends and events like the Super Bowl when high volumes of pizzas get ordered.

According to FOX 17, David Whisker has been crowned the 2024 fastest pizza box folder at the World Pizza Games in Vegas. Whisker slings pizza and pizza boxes at B.C. Pizza originated in Boyne City, Michigan, and has locations from the Mackinac Bridge area to Kalamazoo. There are 6 B.C. Pizza locations in the Grand Rapids area.

This wasn't Whisker's first time winning the event because last year he set the world record for folding 5 12-inch pizza boxes in 17.038 seconds. He didn't crush his speed record last year but won the competition again this year by folding up 5 boxes in 18.094 seconds.

B.C. Pizza put a nice tribute together on their main website that also indicated Whisker not only won the Fastest Box folding competition but placed second in the Fastest Dough competition and ninth in the Pizza Triathlon competition.

After all this talk of pizza, looks like I'm going to have to swing by one of the local B.C. Pizza locations around Grand Rapids and get me a pie for the ride home.
