Everyone has their special holiday traditions that are unique to their families.

For instance, every year my mother-in-law's side of the family gets together to make pierogi. Pierogi is a traditional Polish dish consisting of dough stuffed with various fillings, like potato or cheese, and then boiled and pan fried, and served up with sour cream.

When it comes to this time of year, there are some traditions that are pretty universal, like getting your picture taken with Santa, sipping hot cocoa, and... checking out the holiday lights.

What makes Michigan such an amazing state to see holiday lights is that we have the perfect backdrop at least once each winter; snow. Snow makes the sparkle of holiday lights even more magical.
