WLNS TV 6 reports that Lansing Health Department officials are warning that there's been two fatalities and dozens of hospitalizations in Illinois among users of K2 or 'Spice', which is synthetic marijuana. Synthetic marijuana is legal here in Michigan and is sold in stores, typically convenience stores. It's typically produced and consumed in liquid, then sprayed on leaves to be smoked.

The strain being sold in Illinois which is killing and making them contains rat poison. That's a problem. The 'K2' or 'Spice' that's harming people in Illinois is resulting in 'severe bleeding'.

As one Lansing based medical marijuana dispensary owner said of K2/Spice in a WLNS TV 6 interview, "There are side effects. Even though it’s sold in a store that you can buy cigarettes from, that doesn't make it safe.”

It might be useful to make sure others know that it's not outside the realm of possibility that the same problem with synthetic marijuana could happen in our community.
